We've updated our entire application development software suite for the mainframe. Upgrade now to MANTIS Release 6.1.01

With this new release, you'll experience exciting new features, including:

  • MantisStudio is the next generation of MANTIS Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for current customers. MantisStudio is a fully self-contained developer?s suite consisting of MantisStudio, an Eclipse-based developer?s workplace, MANTIS XML (with an Application Server), and a Windows MANTIS Server. Early adopters can obtain MantisStudio. For more information, please contact us at MantisStudio@cincom.com.
  • Native XML file views enable MANTIS developers to use MANTIS File Design to create XML file layouts. MANTIS can then access a file in XML format as a native MANTIS file, allowing input and output of XML-formatted data.
  • This release of MANTIS provides an easy-to-use facility that enables you to define a web service from your MANTIS programs and screens. With this automated Web Services Description Language (WSDL) generation, you can package your business processes as services for easy interaction with other Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)-enabled participants.
  • By specifying an interface as "Public," the entirety of the interface definition (and data) can be passed between MANTIS programs with just a simple reference to the interface. This can greatly reduce the number of variables necessary to explicitly pass to the entry statement when calling a subroutine.
  • MANTIS now provides mixed case (upper and lower case) support which allows for the definition of variables in mixed case in all of the design facilities, including the Full Screen Editor. Additionally, all variable names in all facilities can be up to 30 characters long.
  • This feature permits system administrators or Cincom Support to sign on to an active MANTIS in administrator mode. In the event that passwords are lost or corrupted, this feature allows administrative personnel to regain control of the MANTIS system and take corrective actions.
