Senior Technical Support Engineer

Cincom Smalltalk™

Cincom Smalltalk is an object-oriented application development suite for creating and maintaining portable, cross-platform business applications. For developers of scalable internet, intranet, and client/server applications, Cincom Smalltalk programming tools exceed the time-to-market requirements of today’s markets, enabling software developers to build applications quickly and efficiently and delivering significant productivity over Java™, C#, C++, or Visual Basic®. Cincom Smalltalk consists of two environments, VisualWorks® and ObjectStudio®.

Senior Technical Support Engineer

You will provide technical support services to Cincom Smalltalk customers, channels partners, and to other internal and external stake-holders. You will have extensive technical knowledge of the Smalltalk programming environment. You must truly enjoy working with customers and end-users as well as with globally-distributed engineers and software development teams to resolve complex technical issues.

Key Qualifications

• B.S. computer science or equivalent FOUR YEAR undergraduate education
• Minimum 5 years SMALLTALK experience (VisualWorks® and ObjectStudio®)
• Minimum 5 years experience with COM, ActiveX, OCL and XML
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining Web Applications
• Thorough familiarity with Oracle, MS SQL and Windows Server (Linux, Unix and Mac Platforms a plus)
  • Hands-on skills with mySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, SOAP, WSDL, Mail Protocols, VisualStudio, C, C++, etc…
• Successful applicants must possess exceptional written and verbal English language communication skills
• This is a North American Work-from-Home position. All qualified applicants will currently reside in and be work-authorized within the United States or Canada.
